At the limits of perception.

Can a person acquire information without known sensory access? Psi research turns that question into experiments on anomalous perception and related claims.

Begin with a testable claim

Different research programs investigate different proposed abilities: remote viewing, telepathy, precognition, and anomalous influence are not the same hypothesis. Identify the task, the target, the scoring rule, and the ordinary information channels that must be excluded.

Ganzfeld research

A registered meta-analysis by Tressoldi and Storm examines ganzfeld experiments spanning more than four decades and reports an aggregate anomalous-perception effect. Its analysis and peer-review history are a useful starting point for examining this contested literature.

The questions that matter

Was the experiment preregistered? Were participants and assessors appropriately blinded? Could information leak through ordinary channels? Were all trials reported? Examine uncertainty, publication bias, and independent replication before interpreting an above-chance result as a new ability.

Psi claims remain scientifically contested. Statistical evidence against a chance model is not, on its own, an identification of the process that produced the result.
